1. Acceptance of the Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Bozos TTS.

By inviting, accessing, or using Bozos TTS, you agree to these Terms and the accompanying Privacy Policy.

When using the Bot, you must also comply with:

  • Discord's Terms of Service
  • Discord's Community Guidelines
  • Discord's Developer and platform rules
  • Applicable local, national, and international laws
  • The rules of the Discord server in which the Bot is used

Do not use the Bot if you do not agree to these Terms.

2. Description of the Service

Bozos TTS provides text-to-speech functionality for Discord voice channels.

The Bot may:

Join a user's current voice channel through /join

Monitor that voice channel's built-in text chat while active

Read eligible messages aloud

Queue multiple messages for playback

Disconnect through /leave

Leave automatically after the VC remains empty for a configured period

Features may be changed, limited, suspended, or removed at any time.

3. Permission to Process Messages

By posting a message in the built-in chat of a voice channel where Bozos TTS is active, you acknowledge that:

Synthesized Speech

The message may be converted into synthesized speech

Identity Disclosure

Your server nickname or display name may be spoken

Third-Party Transmission

The text may be transmitted to a third-party speech-processing service

Audio Playback

The generated audio may be played to members present in the voice channel

4. Acceptable Use

You may not use Bozos TTS to:

  • Harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate another person
  • Generate hateful, discriminatory, or abusive speech
  • Sexualize minors or distribute exploitative material
  • Encourage self-harm, terrorism, or violent wrongdoing
  • Spread scams, malware, phishing links, or fraudulent content
  • Reveal private or confidential information without permission
  • Infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other legal rights
  • Evade Discord moderation or server restrictions
  • Spam messages or deliberately overload the TTS queue
  • Test, exploit, disrupt, reverse engineer, or attack the Bot
  • Use automated systems to generate excessive requests
  • Violate Discord's rules or applicable law

5. Voice and Impersonation Restrictions

You may not use the Bot to mislead others into believing that synthesized speech is an authentic recording of a real person.

Users must not use Bozos TTS for:

Fraudulent impersonation

False endorsements

Fabricated evidence

Harassment through imitation

Deceptive political or commercial content

The Bot's generated voice is synthetic and should be treated as such.

6. Server Administrator Responsibilities

Server owners and administrators are responsible for:

Configuring appropriate channel permissions

Informing members that TTS is active

Moderating content spoken by the Bot

4

Removing or restricting users who misuse the service

Ensuring use of the Bot complies with server rules and applicable laws

The Bot operator is not responsible for content created by Discord users.

7. Availability and Performance

Bozos TTS is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We do not guarantee that:

  • The Bot will always remain online
  • Every message will be spoken
  • Speech generation will be immediate
  • Pronunciation will be accurate
  • Emotion detection will be correct
  • Generated speech will sound natural
  • Commands will always function without delay
  • Third-party services will remain available
  • Temporary audio or queues will never fail

The Bot may experience outages, rate limits, latency or Discord API interruptions.

8. Third-Party Services

Bozos TTS relies on third-party services, including Discord, voice libraries, and speech-generation infrastructure.

Your use of those services may also be governed by their respective terms.

We are not responsible for:

Third-party outages

Changes to external APIs

Service restrictions

Loss caused by external platforms

Data handling performed independently by third parties

Discontinued or modified speech voice

9. Suspension and Termination

Access to Bozos TTS may be limited or terminated without prior notice when reasonably necessary because of:

  • Abuse
  • Spam
  • Security risks
  • Illegal activity
  • Violation of these Terms
  • Violation of Discord’s rules
  • Excessive resource consumption
  • Technical or operational requirements
  • Discontinuation of the Bot

Server administrators may remove the Bot from their server at any time.

10. Intellectual Property

Bozos TTS’s original branding, code, written content, and visual assets remain the property of their respective owner unless stated otherwise.

Discord, Microsoft, package names, voice names, and third-party trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Using Bozos TTS does not grant ownership of the Bot, its code, branding, or third-party technology.

Users retain responsibility for the text they submit and must have the right to use that content.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bozos TTS is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We disclaim warranties concerning:

  • Availability
  • Reliability
  • Accuracy
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Security
  • Speech quality
  • Correct emotion or tone detection

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Bot owner and contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from:

  • Use or inability to use the Bot
  • Incorrect or offensive speech output
  • Service outages
  • Data loss
  • Third-party services
  • Misuse of generated audio
  • Moderation decisions

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Changes to the Service or Terms

The Bot and these Terms may be updated at any time.

Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this document. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
